Week 4: Laughter Leadership

STEP ONE:

STEP TWO:

Understanding the art of improvisation.

Improvisational theatre, often called improvisation or improv, is the form of theatre, often comedy, in which most or all of what is performed is unplanned or unscripted: created spontaneously by the performers. In its purest form, the dialogue, action, story, and characters are created collaboratively by the players as the improvisation unfolds in present time, without use of an already prepared, written script.

Improvisational theatre exists in performance as a range of styles of improvisational comedy as well as some non-comedic theatrical performances. We utilize improvisation while leading Laughter Yoga as a technique to enhance more movement and play into the practice.

STEP THREE:

This is your time to PRETEND!

Homework for this week

Create 5 laughter yoga exercises using your own imagination.  Create them to be whatever you like.

Utilize improvisation and movement for some and seated, less movement for others.

Use scenarios you see in day to day life, for example vacuuming or mopping.  Utilizing the art of improv, make up a scenario altogether that may not be found IRL. (In Real Life)

Enjoy the chance to tap into your imagination.

Extra points for having a friend or family member create one for you to share!

As always,

HAVE FUN!
